There's a nice visualization of the Mexican-American war in the style of Minard's map of the invasion of Napoleon's invasion of Russie by David Hernández Méndez: http://davidhernandez.com.mx/David_hernandez/Welcome.html
I also particularly like Kacper Hamilton's set of classes around the theme of the seven deadly sins. I rarely like glass art, but I think this is very wittily done.
